Beginning students at Mountain Song receive 4 private lessons a month and attend one group lesson a week.

The teacher and parent work together to create a positive, exciting learning environment in the studio and at home.

Parents learn to play the instrument and become practice coaches, leading their children through short practice assignments and games every day.  Parents also set a good example by practicing each day themselves.

Parents play recordings of the pieces the students are learning on a daily basis.  They also play recordings of other violinists and orchestras and take their children to live performances whenever possible.

Parents  attend group lessons and recitals with their children.  These events are important because they give the students an opportunity to make friends, enjoy making music together and just plain have fun.

As students progress music reading, music theory, and ensemble playing are added to the curriculum.

Accommodations are available for special needs students.
